Email Summarizer & Task Adder Agent
A Telegram Bot That Never Lets You Miss Important College Emails
A Telegram automation agent that scans college emails, filters out the noise, sends daily summaries of genuine faculty emails, and automatically adds tasks with due dates to Todoist — so no important announcement gets missed again.

During my first year of engineering, I was receiving a lot of useless emails on my college mail ID — club invites, hackathon invites, product advertisements. We were also told not to respond to any of them until the core subjects of first year were cleared. So I started ignoring all of them. But because of this, I completely missed an important quiz announcement from a faculty member, missed the quiz itself, and lost 16 marks — which ended up affecting my CGPA as well.
To fix this, I built a Telegram agent — an automation that scans my college email for genuine emails from faculty. Every evening, it sends me a single summary message on Telegram, with details of any genuine emails received. And since some of these emails contained tasks, like the quiz announcement I'd missed, I made sure such things could never be ignored again — so I integrated Todoist, a to-do list app, into the agent. Now, on my confirmation, the agent also adds these tasks to Todoist with proper due dates, so I don't forget about them.
But this raised a real problem — how would the agent know if an email was genuine or not? Initially, it relied on its own judgement, analysing the email body, tone, and other such cues. But that wasn't reliable enough, so I improved it further: whenever I marked a sender as important by replying to the same summary message on Telegram, the agent would store that sender in a table and remember them as important going forward. With this, it became a complete, end-to-end Telegram assistant.
